La Vérité is a publication which explores and re-imagines the
work of American painter and photographer Richard
Prince.
The publication is based on Richard Prince’s children’s colouring book “3rd place”. I used his black and white drawings in “3rd place” as my core material and combined them with my own coloured prints. The aim of this project was to create an interpretation of his work combining my vision and experiences with his.
La vérité includes collages, typographic experiments, photography and drawings. The title of the publication is the French translation for “the truth” and represents the fact that children are often more honest. It can be perceived as the ‘finished’ version of his initial colouring book.
Fully filled-in colouring books depict a child’s vision; whereas my publication represents my own vision of Richard Prince’s work.
